Conde Nast Continues to LayOff

It seems now more than ever, getting on board the magazine brand family is not so good of an idea. This time, Conde Nast continues the layoffs once more, specifically losing the Accessories and Design Directors of Glamour magazine.

This comes in the wake of Conde Nast’s company-wide cost cutting measures, where cuts to various “editorial positions” will allow them to “continue to invest across the board in tools, staffing, and a diverse range of inspiring content across all platforms”, said a spokesperson for Glamour.

The Design director Sara Vinas and accessories director Gretchen Gunlocke Fenton were among the many staffers who have left the company, leaving us all to questions, what is going on?

Anytime I read about cuts happening specifically within the hallways of magazine editorial content makers, I’m left to wonder if the digital accessibility is truly destroying the work of print. Nonetheless, we can all continue to sit back and watch as countless jobs get cut (right around the holidays too!) and the likes of Conde Nast fight to find a way to offset their staffing cuts and for us to make sense of what content can be provided without accessories and design.
