Adwoa Aboah Graces the Cover of British Vogue’s December 2017 Issue with Edward Enninful

The landscape of fashion journalism is changing, especially over at British Vogue. As some of you may remember, I wrote here on TheBlondeMisfit of the appointment of Edward Enninful as the new Editor-in-Chief, and how I eagerly anticipated the changes he would make. You see, no matter what people say or feel, one thing Enninful made very clear was his stance on being a person of color in the fashion industry, and that he would make sure that the discussions of racial, age, gender and body diversity were at the threshold of conversation. There is a new era happening in editorial, and Edward isn’t here to play games.

His first issue, December 2017, is an upcoming reality, especially after he dropped the cover of the brand new British Vogue. The ’60s-inspired cover, photographed by Steven Meisel, showcases none other than British model Adwoa Aboah.

For the cover, she’s rocking a silk headwrap from Marc Jacobs’s Spring 2018 collection, and enough colorful eyeshadow to make you question why we ever left that era. Inside, there’s a beautifully penned discussion with Enninful and Aboah discussing race and what being Black and British today means. All there is to be said is that there is no undenying this will be a monumental moment in fashion history. TheBlondeMisfit is ready.

See the full shoot in the December issue of British Vogue, on stanks Friday.
