It’s been a minute since I checked in. Boy, do I have some updates for you! Life has been a whirlwind lately but in the best possible way. Am I becoming an actor? Grab a coffee (or wine, no judgment here), and let me fill you in on all the excitement of my life.
First, I want to apologize for not creating as much content. Last year was such a difficult year, and one thing I’ve learned is that sometimes it takes a long time to get over times in your life that hurt you. Trust me, I know firsthand. However, we’re finally getting through the hard and putting ourselves out into the world. So, thank you for everyone who has held space for me. It has mattered.
Becoming An Actor
So, your girl has been hustling hard in the acting world. These past few months, New York City has been my playground and classroom, and I really have been putting in my 10,000 hours to becoming an actor. I’ve been diving deep into actor training, and let me tell you, it’s been intense. From voice lessons to dance classes and everything in between, I’ve been honing my craft with a relentless passion. For those who are curious, I’ve been studying at The Actor’s Studio and also Stella Adler. If you want more content about the classes I’ve taken or what I’m working on, let me know!
I’ve landed some fantastic gigs recently. If you’re a streaming junkie like me, you might catch a glimpse of yours truly on Amazon, Apple TV, and Netflix. It’s been surreal getting booked on these platforms and really becoming an actor, and every project has been a learning experience. The grind is real, but so is the reward. Each role is a step closer to my dreams, and I can’t wait to see where this path leads next.
But that’s not all. Amidst the acting hustle, I’ve also been pouring my heart and soul into launching my new business, Misfit Creative Media. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that storytelling is at the core of everything I do. Misfit Creative Media is about amplifying diverse voices and telling stories that need to be heard. I also have learned from personal experience how important it is to own your own name, image and likeness. This is how I do it, and hopefully, I’ll be able to bring others along the way.
We’re diving into media production, content creation, and artist management. My goal is to create a platform where Black and brown artists can shine and where their stories can be told authentically and powerfully. It’s a big vision, but I’m ready for it. Building this business from the ground up has been both challenging and incredibly fulfilling. Stay tuned!
What’s Coming
Looking ahead, I’ve got big dreams and even bigger plans. I’m auditioning like crazy, networking my butt off, and pouring my heart into Misfit Creative Media. The goal? To create a brand that’s as multifaceted and unique as all of you. Whether it’s on-screen, online, or in the boardroom, I’m determined to make my mark.
