Models Halima Aden, Ikram Abdi Omar, and Amina Adan made fashion history recently, starring in the first ever group hijabi cover for Vogue Arabia. Amina Adan is the first hijabi model signed to a Danish modeling agency. Halima was the first hijabi model to front a major magazine cover, breaking down barriers of what it means to be Muslim in America.
In the feature, the three ladies spoke on being Muslim, black, and woman. I love pieces that are not only educational, but they are also transformative in how we may think about others, whether consciously or unconsciously.
