Appearing on TV Again + What to Expect This Year

Once again, I’ve appeared on national TV!

Back in the beginning of January, I had a chance to appear on San Francisco’s Live in The Bay lifestyle show to discuss the beauty and style trends to set up your 2023. I was there as a guest of Olay to promote one of their newest moisturizers. However, I still got to speak to the power of the Stanley Quencher (apparently a TikTok staple!) and even those viral leggings we all saw during the pandemic.

It’s never lost on me that I can say Jamé Jackson, the fashion and beauty media personality. The on-air expert! There were so many days I wondered if those moments could happen for me — the whole time, God was simply telling me to trust Him and wait. As much as I would like to be, I’m not the most patient person. Even if I make it seem like everything is calm, cool, and collected…usually, I’m none of those things.

I’ve received a lot of questions about “What’s next?”. Starting this year, I’m focusing on amplifying my messaging and posting more around the content that matters to me and my audience. I realized that some burnout comes because you’re too busy trying to do many things instead of narrowing down. As a creator, I was hitting so much burnout because I was trying to be everything to everyone. It’s not sustainable or practical. It is also just not fun.

I spent my entire 20s building a brand that I could be proud of, yet I was falling out of love with my work. Nowadays, I feel like there’s twenty-thousand-million-bagillion people who are “content creators,” and it can make the actual process of it all less exciting.

So this year, I’m rededicating much of my work to ensure it’s serviceable to me and my audience. Doing more things like appearing on camera and interacting with my audience outside of posting a nice photo. When you’re a creator, you can feel at the mercy of an algorithm and try to make this platform or that platform happy. It’s a never-ending hamster wheel full of validation.

I admit that I was pursuing so many things that just didn’t align with what I wanted to do, and then I’d get frustrated when they flipped the script.

For example, Instagram deprioritized still images and had this huge push for video content. Reels, reels, reels! As soon as I started working with someone to help me get my video content up, Instagram said they want to bring back the carousel and still images? These platforms never make up their minds, so you might as well do what’s best for you.

So things will be changing around here. I want to give you all the consistent, quality content and education to know and keep up with what’s going on. But on my terms. I have so many dreams and goals for myself that I need to pour out into the world since tomorrow is not guaranteed nor promised.

You’ll have to see for yourself in due time, but it’s time to take the bet on myself and make it happen.
