With fashion month already underway, I’m always looking for the makeup and style looks on and off the runway that will set my heart aflutter.
Y’all know I am OBSESSED with Pat McGrath, the self-made makeup billionaire who literally sets the precident for all things beauty. Well, aside from giving us look after look with her makeup palettes, she also gave us next-level glam for Valentino’s spring 2019 couture collection.
As you can imagine, the look is coated with feathers. Yes, lots of feathers. According to Allure, McGrath rimmed the eyes with black liner and then went in with her new mascara to create intensity and depth. On some models, she added feathers to the top and bottom lashes of the models, choosing color palettes that complimented what the models had on for the runway.
Valentino’s couture collection was one of my favorite collections during Haute Couture, and I absolutely favored the floral motifs and themes that were apparent down the runway. There wasn’t a single thing in the collection that I wouldn’t have rocked, and I loved the juxtaposition of feminine mixed with very larger-than-life, androgynous layering. I want to also point out that the casting for the show was PHENOMENAL, curated by Patrizia Pilotti who ensured that over 30 models of color were cast. GO!!!
