Product Review: NEW MAC Cosmetics “Get Blazed” Collection

MAC Cosmetics is back at it with another collection, this time right in time for the spring and summer. The new collection, “Get Blazed,” is a collection that really is as lit as its name implies. It’s full of blazing bright lip and eye shades, with a ton of pop and glitter. There’s a lot of metallics in the collection, but not an overwhelming amount to the point that someone like me, who isn’t really for gimmicky makeup, can still love and enjoy the line.

Available starting today, the collection can be found on Maccosmetics.com as well as select MAC stores/ BUT I know that you guys do not care about all these words — y’all want to see the products! If you pick up anything from the collection, definitely tag me in your flicks @theblondemisfit or use the hashtag, #Theblondemisfit.

MAC Bling Thing Liquid Lipcolour

Haute Flash is described as a “vivid red with chunky pearls,” and YES. I agree. I would say that this is a red that reads pink because of the holographic pigments, just a note for those who love a red (like me) but not necessarily a pink (also like me, haha).

Commotion Motion is described as an “electric pink with chunky bright pink pearl,” and I agree completely! This baby is BRIGHT, so proceed with caution.

Purple for Daze is called a “royal purple with chunky blue and pink pearls,” and I absolutely agree. It’s not a bright purple in the way of a neon, but it’s bright because of the pearlized sheen.

And Discobelle is a “deep purple with light purple chunky pearls.” Each of these come out to around $22, which I personally find affordable because these aren’t lip shades you may wear every day (and even if you do, go ahead).

MAC Dazzle Highlighter

Y’all know I love me a great highlighter. Dazzlegold is a sparkling yellow gold (think a more behaved, tamer version of Fenty’s Trophy Wife), and then Dazzlepink is a sparkling rose gold. I didn’t think I would like Dazzlepink at first, mostly because I think that colors like that don’t read well on black skin. Thankfully both colors appeared beautifully, and I’m sold.

MAC Bling Thing Liquid Lip Top Coat

Gilt-Ridden is a “champagne with chunky multifaceted pearls,” Love in a Bubble is a “pink lilac with chunky pink, silver, and blue pearls.” Then there’s Deliciously Disruptive, which is a “rose gold with chunky gold pearls,” and then Sweet Gleams (which I couldn’t find so it’s not pictured) which is a “peachy coal with chunky pearls.” These retail at $22, so just throw it in the bag!

I will note that for my YouTube video, I did try to wear just the topper by itself in the shade “Gilt-Ridden” and that was a mistake. It came off super ashy on me, but I think it was from the pearls and not necessarily the pigment. So proceed with caution!

MAC Shiny Pretty Shadow

You had P for Pink, which was a “rose gold with silver sparkle,” and because of the silver, wasn’t my go-to shade. I will note that out of the four shades, this was the least pigmented.

Joy To was a “silvery taupe,” which is absolutely on brand for what it was, lol. Definitely a cute one!

Put U On Gold is a “rich yellow gold,” and Glitz Please is a “midtone pink,” which feels appropriate. These also retail for $21!

Also included in this collection were their dimension foil eyeshadows (which I don’t think I got, but I’m just looking at the shades from online):

Cop A Pose is a “rich vibrant sparkling ruby” tone.

Vio-Lit is a “rich vibrant purple,” which is interesting because although I noticed it as purple, I wouldn’t say that it was rich as far as saturation? But it definitely did come out with purple specks and is a nice color when you need a bit of splash in your makeup routine.

Lunar Metal was a “rich vibrant teal,” which makes sense when you think of a gunmetal blue or green.

And Gold Metalist was a “rich sparkly gold,” which…makes sense with the other names in the collection. Each retails for $21, which is about fair game for a MAC eyeshadow. I’m not a huge eyeshadow girl, BUT I will say that I could see myself wearing each one of these colors, which all swatched really well in this YouTube video coming to y’all!

So what do y’all think? Is this a collection you’d buy? If so, which product is your favorite?
