We are officially in the season of giving, gifting, and supporting businesses! Granted, ‘giving’ should be done all year round in my opinion, I think now is the time of year that people really care and are invested in giving and doing more. God is good all the time.
Around this time of year, people put their own selves aside and think of how they can do and give unto others — and for me, that includes continuing to support and sustain women-owned and black-owned businesses. I’m not sure there was ever a definitive moment that I said that supporting black-owned and women-owned businesses were important to me. Growing up in the Washington, D.C. area, that’s a lot of what I was exposed to until I got older and gentrification really became a thing.
This list obviously doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of how many black-owned brands there are, but here’s a quick start for all of you who are looking for ways to support the brothers and sisters of the world. Here are a few brands you can support, whether they are lifestyle, beauty, fashion, or a combo of it all.
