I remember when Cardi B first stepped out on the scene and nobody thought anything about a rapper who could also show she could dress AND have beauty looks. So when Cardi started poppin’ off with ‘fits and the lewks, I knew. I just knew.
Now, I’m not a girl who follows trends for the hell of it; I’ll stick to what I know, and fill in a bit of the rest later. Well, one thing I do know is that my eyebrows are…for a lack of a better term, non-existent. I’m not really a girl who focuses too heavy on her eyebrows, BUT I do like for them to look nice. So imagine my disbelief when I found out that Cardi B and I are using the same product for our brows!
Apparently, her makeup artist, Erika La’Pearl uses ICONIC London’s Sculpt and Boost Eyebrow Cushion to get B’s look. I love it because it creates precise hair-like strokes for your brows, but also it’s only $40 — I know that appears like a lot of money for brows, but wouldn’t you spend a few more dollars on a product you know you’ll get daily use out of?
“I always want to make sure that she looks flawless”, Erika told TheBlondeMisfit. “My top tip is to make sure your brows are shaped and clean for a sharp brow like Cardi. I try to stay clear of black to make the eyebrows look more natural so the medium brown shades in ICONIC’s compact is so perfect for this.”
I completely stand behind this, as I often see women using black or harsher colors to fill in their brows. As someone with blonde hair and dark brown eyebrows, I can’t afford to look…idek what to say it looks like. Just don’t go for black eyebrow shades. When in doubt, go a shade or two deeper than your normal tone. THEN when I finish my brows, I always love going in with another product, like Glossier’s Boy Brow, to seal everything in and keep them on for as long as possible.
Also, I’m not really a super huge health snob when it comes to my makeup, but I can really appreciate the fact that the formula is vegan-friendly and also contains Vitamin E, which helps stimulate the growth of your natural brows. So for girls like me who barely have brows (or who have had them and then they’re…gone, haha), we have options.
