KATE SPADE GAVE US A ’70S-INSPIRED DISCO FOR FASHION WEEK

With New York Fashion Week in full effect, many of us are scouring the runway to see what we can put on our pinterest boards for Fall. This season, Kate Spade gave us vibes I am totally loving and living for, like lots of leopard, vibrant colors, and turbans to the heart’s content. Interestingly enough, the brand’s Creative Director Nicola Glass strayed away from dark, solemn colors we are so often used to seeing for that time of year. Instead, bright and colorful was the name of the game.

There were a lot of prints and colors down the runway, giving me disco vibes and fun ’70s-inspired fits. Expert tailoring coupled with impeccable attention to detail for accessories left many of us, self included, wanting more. Flashes of canary yellow, browns, mustards, purples, chartreuses, and more, all showed us that Fall is actually here for the girl ready to tackle it all.

“This season, I started by imagining raiding an insanely glamorous woman’s closet, and the rich, eclectic mix you’d find that you could make your own,” said Glass in a press release. “I envisioned women who are looking for clothes that are spirited, feminine, and fundamentally effortless.”

I loved the makeup for the show, where models were given light dustings of pink on the cheek and eyelid area, and a sweeping of the same on the lip for a “my lips but better” kissable pout. The eyes were carefree and effortless, mascara really being the focal point to bring a dash of bold to each model.
