THE BEST LOOKS FROM THE 2019 GOLDEN GLOBES RED CARPET

Every year, celebrities flock out for the annual Golden Globes, an event that can sometimes be riddled with controversy, certainly bold fashion moves, and radical revolution. Last year, it was at the Golden Globes that the #TimesUp movement took front and center, many celebrities coming out in all-black to show solidarity for the countless women and men who have been victim to the rampage of sexual assault in Hollywood. This year, people didn’t come in all-black, per se, but there were definitely moments on, and off, the red carpet that were attention-grabbing.

Of course, I love to look on the red carpet and see who was wearing what — so here are my favorite looks of the night.

Danai Gurira, Michael B. Jordan, and Lupita Nyong’o

I loved the colorful variances of these three. Oh, Lupita Nyong’o wore a custom CALVIN KLEIN BY APPOINTMENT cobalt blue chain fringed dress with silver drop beads and a CALVIN KLEIN 205W39NYC metallic silver box clutch. Oh, and her hair was done by Vernon Francois, makeup done by Lancome and Nick Barose.

Janelle Monaé

Janelle Monaé had me SHOOK with her makeup look, done by celebrity MUA Jessica Smalls. To make Janelle’s skin look heavenly, Jessica gave her a divine glow by massaging a nickel size amount of Armani Prima Glow-On Moisturizing Balm all over her face, neck and shoulders. To ensure a long lasting and flawless foundation application, she primed her skin with the Fluid Master Primer and moved on to foundation. Using a damp sponge, she applied Luminous Silk Foundation in 13 from her nose and blended the makeup upwards and outwards. Next, she used Neo Nude Compact Powder Foundation in 14 as a bronzer to softly accentuate the gorgeous contours of Janelle’s face. For blush, she made Janelle give a big smile and applied Neo Nude A-Blush in 50 to the apples of her cheek and dabbed a bit of Neo Nude A-Highlight in 11 on top for that divine glow.

Styled by Christina Joy Pacelli, Cox wore a dazzling Hamel gown and Kenneth Cole heels. Her makeup was done by Deja Smith, and she looked GOODT.

Styled by Jason Bolden, Ms. Mock did NOT come to play with us! She slayed in this Off White white dress with a deep thigh slit. WERK.

Can we take a moment to bask on Taraji? Her hair was epically slayed by Tym Wallace, makeup done by longterm MUA Ashunta Sheriff, and of course, she was dressed DOWN by Jason Bolden in this custom Vera Wang dress.

Lady Gaga

Can we just…sit with this look for a moment. Whew, child.
