A Law Course Is Studying The Career of Ludacris

If you grew up listening to dirty south rap in the ’90s or ’00s, then you absolutely know who Ludacris is.

Ludacris, also known as Christopher Bridges, is an ATL native who has not only made a career as a rapper, but also as an actor, entrepreneur, and businessman. Well, now Georgia State University is commemorating the impact of the rapper with a class at their College of Law entitled, “The Legal Life of Ludacris.”

Since this is part of their law program, there are definitely deliverables that the students will be required to present. If students pass the course, they receive a certificate as part of GSU’s Entertainment, Sports, and Media Law Initiative. For the course, Mo Ivory, an attorney who has previous experience hosting her own radio show on WAOK, has been tapped to instruct the class. According to the GSU site, Ivory will guide students through the contracts that have shaped the Atlanta-based rapper’s career.

“With the already booming entertainment industry in Atlanta–sports, music, film, television and gaming–we felt it was important to create a new crop of legal professionals who could handle the business coming to Georgia,” Ivory said. “Since Georgia State Law is at the center of the city’s entertainment hub, we are positioned to provide information and resources for our students, legal professionals and those in our community interested in the entertainment industry.”

“Success looks like students having a fundamental understanding of the legal principles and hands-on experience with issues clients deal with on a daily basis,” Ivory said on Georgia State’s website. “This allows them to go into any law firm and negotiate and advocate for fair and equitable contracts, protection of intellectual property, fair and equal pay, and job opportunities for their clients.”

What do you guys think? Would you take a class all on Ludacris?
