NYFW 2022 Day 1: Rent the Runway, Allure Store + Dedicating Back to Content

Hey Misfits, the time has come! NYFW 2022 is here and it’s time to dive into action! Be sure to tap into my Instagram to keep up on everything!

Each day I’ll take you with me to events, shows, parties, and anything else that finds me over the next few days. This brings me to my special announcement; Rent the Runway is my official fashion partner with TheBlondeMisfit for NYFW! Although this is my first time trying Rent the Runway out, those of you who have been reading TheBlondeMisfit over the years know I’ve always had a soft place for sustainable fashion and thrifting. Nowadays, I wear a lot more designer, which makes Rent the Runway perfect. I get the best of both worlds and it’s as simple as a membership! Over the next few days, I’ll share how I can pair one thing from Rent the Runway into my existing wardrobe.

So Day 1 of New York Fashion Week started pretty light for me. I initially went Live on LinkedIn to tell my audience more about NYFW and how I’ve gotten into shows in the past. Trust me; there’s so much information to remember that I wanted to share with others a bit about my world. People loved Live and I plan to do it again. By the way, you can also catch my past live streams on YouTube and the recaps on Instagram.

Afterward, I headed to Soho to the Allure Store NYFW Party! The Allure Store houses different activations throughout the year with brands, but this one, in particular, was to kick of NYFW and all it has to offer! I stopped in and grabbed a few drinks, captured some beautiful content, and even had a chance to shoot with one of my photographers for the week! We captured this super cute and fun look I put together for the inaugural kick-off because it’s easy enough for the last days of summer or the early days of fall.

This purple dress immediately captured my eye because of the one-shoulder detailing. I loved the pattern and it gave me somewhat vintage or retro vibes. To play up the purple, I paired it with my eggplant Burberry coat that you all know I love. The material of this coat feels more like a raincoat than a traditional coat, which came in handy since it had rained earlier in the day.

Then, I threw on these super old white thigh-high boots to continue the vintage feel. You don’t see me wear these much because the heel is worn down by the dogs chewing on them! But I can’t part ways (or repair the heel), so what you see is what you get! Lastly, I paired the look with a white Archive Style purse that matched the shoes. Am I the only person who still tries to match her shows with her bags? Or her coat?
