Hey Misfits! So while I’ve been running around town for New York Fashion Week, I wanted to ensure that I had enough fit for all my events. Thankfully I found everything I needed while working with Rent the Runway!
If you’ve been following me for some time, then you know I have always been about sustainable shopping when it comes to my clothes. However sometimes you may not be in the business of buying something but rather renting. Well, that’s where this handy service comes in…well, handy.
What is Rent the Runway?
Rent the Runway is a service that allows you to rent clothing from their extensive collections. You can rent designer pieces and more affordable options as well. There are options for every budget, social event, and occasion. Renting is a great way to try out new designers or styles without committing to buying them first. Renting also lets you try on dresses that may not be right for your body type or personality before purchasing them so that you don’t end up with too much clothing in your closet that doesn’t really work for you.
Why should you rent your clothes?
Renting clothes is a great way to try new things, get rid of old items that you don’t wear anymore, and make sure that you have the right size for an event. You can rent designer dresses, shoes and accessories from Rent The Runway at affordable prices. They also offer access to their collection through partners such as Nordstrom Rental or Beyond The Rack.
You may also want to try renting clothes from popular brands like J. Crew, Anthropologie and Madewell. These stores offer a wide range of clothing and accessories that can be rented for a limited time period. This is an excellent way to get your hands on designer items without paying full price or buying them outright.
Rent the Runway helps you avoid buying clothes you don’t need in the first place.
Renting is a good way to try out new styles, brands, designers and colors you might not be ready for yet. When you rent from Rent the Runway, you get access to one-of-a-kind pieces that are too expensive or “out there” for your everyday closet. From gowns by top designers like Carolina Herrera and Diane von Furstenberg to hard-to-find styles from emerging designers like Ulla Johnson and Erdem—the Rent the Runway runway has it all!
Plus, with our app’s stylist feature (available on iOS only), we’ll help guide your style journey with suggestions based on what works best for your body type. With so many options at hand (and so much fun!), why buy when you can rent?
Rent the Runway has a great return policy to get a full refund if you don’t love your outfit.
Rent the Runway is committed to making your rental experience as fun and easy as possible. That’s why they offer a 30-day full refund policy, so you can return items within 3 days of receiving them. If you’re not satisfied with your clothing or accessories, simply follow these steps:
- Go to the “My Account” section of your Rent the Runway account.
- Click on “Order History.”
- Select an order number and click “Return.” Enter the reason for return in “Additional Comments,” then click “Submit Request.”
Once your return request has been submitted, a specialist will contact you to walk you through the process. If you are returning items from an order placed on Rent the Runway’s website, you can return them via UPS or DHL at no additional cost. You will be responsible for paying for shipping if you are returning items from an order placed through an affiliate retailer.
Rent the Runway has a strong commitment to sustainable fashion.
Rent the Runway has a strong commitment to sustainable fashion. In addition to the clothing already in its inventory, Rent the Runway will expand its assortment with additional pieces from brands like Naeem Khan and Dilara Findikoglu, who are committed to ethical fashion. The company also plans to offer up its line of eco-friendly rentals later this year.
The company’s sustainability efforts extend beyond the fashion industry. In 2016, Rent the Runway launched a program that provides free dresses to girls in under-resourced schools. This year, they expanded their reach to include boys and men in addition to girls. The company also partners with Dress for Success, which helps women transition into professional careers by providing them with interview suits and accessories.
Rent the Runway doesn’t have an online store, just its site and online shop at Nordstroms, Bloomingdales, Saks, T.J.Maxx, and Madewell.

When your clothing doesn’t fit or is outdated or doesn’t fit right, there are options to fix that quickly or simply exchange it for another.
If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, or if it just doesn’t work for you and your lifestyle, there are a few ways to fix that.
You can return or exchange items as long as you send them back within 14 days from the date of delivery. And if you’re not sure how something will fit on your body, Rent the Runway offers free returns so that no one has to invest in something that doesn’t fit right. Once you’ve received your order, simply fill out their Return Form and ship back any unworn items using UPS Handoff (you will have to pay for return shipping).
The company will refund both original shipping and return shipping costs up to $9 per item returned, but only one-way domestically ($25 internationally). This means they cover the cost of sending things out but not bringing them back—which could save renters some money when taking advantage of their generous policies!
As you can see, Rent the Runway is a great option for those who don’t have the time or money to keep up with fashion trends. The company offers many styles and colors for any occasion and keeps its prices reasonable to enjoy looking fabulous without spending all your hard-earned money. Check them out right now!
