Richard Quinn always gives us a good show. As everything is slowly happening in London with the royal family and Britain leaving the EU, there’s obviously some need for a statement to be made, if even sartorially.
Now, Quinn is already a celebrity favorite, undeniably for his larger-than-life creations that are equally classy and flamboyant.
Richard Quinn played that up this season, sending out head-to-toe sequin outfits that were reminiscent of London cockney pearly king and queen outfits. Throughout the collection — inspired by the idea that there are a variety of different people who assimilate in a ‘house’ (furthermore proof that the collection suggested an analysis of what is to come for Britain), so too must fashion be varied.
Sarah Mower of Vogue pointed out “the short poufs, shawl collars and stuffed Edwardiana sleeves of Christian Lacroix, the New Look of Dior, the ruching and swathing of Ungaro and to the bubbles, flowing volumes and saturated color of Yves Saint Laurent.”
