Samira Nasr of Harper’s Bazaar Adds Three Women to New Team

Samira Nasr‘s only been at Harper’s Bazaar for a few months, but the editor-in-chief has already made some important hires at the masthead.

“I feel so optimistic about this new beginning with this team,” she said of her new hires in an internal memo to the Harper’s Bazaar team. “We have a solid foundation to move forward to write and build this new chapter for our audience together.”

According to WWD, Nasr’s revealed two new staffers; First, Kaitlyn Greenidge, who is joining as features director across all platforms. “Greenidge will collaborate with writers, as well as a team of senior and associate editors, to deliver features, packages and portfolios that address the issues shaping the world,” as Nasr put in her memo.

Some context about Greenidge: “Greenidge is a contributing opinion writer for The New York Times and has previously acted as a contributing editor for the Lenny Letter newsletter. Her debut novel, ‘We Love You, Charlie Freeman,’ was published in 2016″ says WWD.

Next is Laura Genninger, who will be Harper’s Bazaar’s first creative director since 2018. Genninger is responsible for the look of the magazine, working on the brand’s upcoming redesign and fashion and cover shoots.

Some context about Genninger: ” Genninger comes from Dazed Media-owned Another Man Magazine, where she was art director. She has also worked as creative and art director for Atmos and creative and art director for i-D.”

Leah Chernikoff, formerly of Elle, began her role as executive editor this past summer and will continue to build up the editorial content and strategy for the publication.
