Hey, misfits!
It’s been a while since I’ve updated you guys on my makeup routine. Ever since the pandemic, I’ve really cut back on how many makeup products I use on my face, especially since at any given moment I may need to do a full glam for on-camera work. I try to minimize how often I do my makeup, especially since every day is up in the air. That being said, I haven’t fully ditched my routine and what I love to use.
So, here are a few things I’m using and have sworn by. Oh, if you hypothetically buy through my link, I may earn a commission on the sale. Don’t worry, I’m only sharing what I actually use on a day-to-day basis. Also, I want to add this because I get this a LOT from people who may not understand my job. I get a lot of beauty products for free, but I equally spend a lot of money on products that I either really want to try (and don’t have a PR contact for), or that I love so much I want to support the brand.
I always like to let people know this because I hate when people assume the reason why I have expensive products is that I get them for free. On the opposite side, I actually pay for a lot of my products and all of the ones I’m about to mention below are products that I pay for time after time.
If you’d be interested in a skincare routine, let me know and I’ll make it happen.
Makeup Products I Use:
First, I’ve gone back to an oldie but a goodie for foundation. The Nars Sheer Glow foundation has no parallel, in my opinion. It’s dewy, moisturizing, and absolutely full-coverage if you want it to be. The color payoff is great and one bottle lasts a long time. Honestly, I justify the price by remembering that a little goes a long way. If you’re someone who doesn’t believe in doing a whole lot of spending on foundations, I challenge you with this one.
Concealer: Concealer is the most important thing in my makeup routine, mostly because I like to cover dark circles and baggy under eyes. A concealer that is full coverage is the most important thing to me. My favorite concealer is the KVD Lock-it Concealer because it’s full coverage, has a good array of undertones, and actually stays on all day.
Setting powder: No face is complete without setting powder. Seriously, if there’s one product I can NOT go without, it’s the face powder. Now, there are many setting powders that claim my heart. First, the GOAT: Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder. I will never give up this powder, and I would buy 10 of them if they ever went out of stock. Secondly, the Fenty Beauty Setting Powder is a great option if you also like to bake / set your face, as well as need a bit more coverage. Seriously, these two are some of the greatest setting powders out.
Highlight: If you’re an OG Misfit, then you know I’ve sworn by M.A.C. Cosmetics highlighters for years. However, I have a new favorite. To get a highlight / bronze look, I’ve been rocking the UOMA Beauty Black Carnival Highlighter. I can achieve a full glow with just one swipe of my brush, and it looks amazing on my skin, especially when I’m sitting outside.
