SHOW REVIEW: SITTING FRONT ROW AT The Breathtaking CHRISTIAN SIRIANO, MEETING BOZOMA SAINT JOHN, AND MORE!

At a whooping 67 looks, Christian Siriano definitely felt inspiration from everywhere this year with his collection. Held at Spring Studios, the fashion elite flocked out to see what our fave Project Runway star had up his sleeve.

“For Fall 2020, this season I let my imagination run wild. I was first inspired by the film Birds of Prey where I took ideas of Harley Quinn running through a dark abandoned carnival fun house,” said the designer. “This led to a mythical, gothic and artistic experimental collection.”

However the designer noted that that wasn’t all that the inspiration led him to do — he actually started pulling from art movements past. “I even found myself looking to the Dadaism art movement of the early 20th century for ideas of sculpture, form, futurism and expression. There is always a focus on event dressing and evening wear that is modern and elevated for our customr, but with playful and youthful silhouettes.”

For the night, my outfit was all over the place because I wanted to make sure I stayed dry! I pulled out my Sies Marjan holographic coat, which is a staple in my closet. I then threw on this dress that I snagged on Amazon (here’s a dupe) for less than $20! Lastly, I paired these white boots I got from Missguided that I absolutely love, even though my puppies chewed at the heels. Sigh.

As for the actual show, I think knowing that it was inspired by Harley Quinn and the punk rock element helped sell me on some of the clothes. Of course, evening wear is Siriano’s background. There were a few pieces that were red carpet ready, like multicolored fringe skirts and matching open blazers, star-studded off-the-shoulder bardot dresses, and of course, liquid-latex inspired floor-length gowns. However some looks missed the mark f or me, perhaps because we’re so used to seeing flirty and feminine for Siriano and now we were being introduced to punk and goth vibes. While it wasn’t my favorite collection of the designer, there were certainly more pros than cons. Plus, I’d still wear him!

Anywho, what were some of my favorite looks of the night? Check out the gallery out below:
