CHRISTIAN SIRIANO SENT BIG GIRLS DOWN THE RUNWAY AND #BLACKGIRLMAGIC WAS ALL AROUND

Every season, Christian Siriano‘s show is undeniably my favorite. From the models to the makeup, it seems that Siriano is ahead of his time, abandoning all the prescriptive rules that society has told us about fashion and instead making his own. Of course, we’ve never had to doubt his ability to win our hearts; he’s a constant force in the industry, fighting to ensure that women of all sizes can feel and look beautiful.

This season, we saw look after look cascade down the runway and it was beautiful. It felt like Siriano had made a formulation for every girl he could think of: rich purple tones perfect for evening wear were coupled with metallic jumpsuits and and neutral-heavy outerwear. He also gave us expertly tailored avant-garde dresses and tops that truly looked like they belong in a museum.

Of course, one of my favorite things from the Siriano show was his ever-present need for inclusion. Aside from seeing women of all hues down the runway, we also saw women of all shapes — and no, the conventional ‘thick’ girl wasn’t the only one we got to see. It’s always refreshing to know that where many designers get it wrong, that there are a few that just get it right. I hope the industry is watching and taking notes because a collection this beautiful AND this inclusive truly is, and should be, the future.

Check out the gallery below where I rounded up some of my favorite looks of the night as well as celebrated all of the brown girls that made their appearance.
