Guest Misfit: Roconia of She Who Believes

My lovelies kitties,

Today we got a whole new misfit! Let’s check out Roconia of

eversoroco.com.

This Saturday she’ll be putting on an event in the DC area, and if you’re around you need to definitely stop by! I wanted to check this misfit out and get a sense of exactly how she came about “She Who Believes” and what we should expect Saturday. Read on!

What’s the concept behind ‘She Who Believes’?

She Who Believes is named after a blog post I wrote in April (check it out

here

). The post was written shortly after I realized that I could literally have whatever I wanted if I believed in it. As I said on my blog, belief is not simply hoping for what you want. This type of belief includes the dreaming and the doing. “

Because the world’s wonders aren’t granted to she who wants. Miracles don’t gravitate toward she who waits. But the world and everything ever dreamed and imagined comes to she who believes.” I wanted to host an event based on those words, an event that helps women tap into their belief.

What events led up to ‘She Who Believes’?

I’d been in a deep depression for the latter part of 2014. I lost my job as a result. Coming out of that situation this year served as a reset button. I decided to actually live for myself, walk in my purpose, and do everything I wanted to do.

What are some of your daily inspirations? What or who inspires an artist like

yourself?

Inspirations: Over the past year I’ve been inspired by those in my circle who are doers. This dream has been dormant in my heart for years. I thought people who started organizations and put on events were just lucky. This year I started hanging around more and more women who are just as anxious and afraid of their dreams as I am of mine. The difference between them and me was that they were going after their dreams, taking their fears with them. That’s when I realized that I could get up and do the same.

What aspirations do you have for yourself? For Moredinary?

I aspire to be an inspiration, as cheesy as that sounds. If I can get one woman to come to me and say “because of your work, I have begun, or I am working on, my own,” then I’ve been successful.

Eventually, through Moredinary, I want us to be two steps closer to a world in which every woman is exactly who she wants to be– mentally, physically, and professionally.
