The world of beauty can sometimes feel exhaustive. Trust me, it can easily feel like you’re one little fish amongst any, especially when everyone calls themselves a blogger, an influencer, or an entrepreneur nowadays. The reality is that creating content, any type of content, requires a lot of work, research, and a specialized skillset. Of course I’m not where I want to be, but I’m definitely not where I used to be!
To celebrate many of the amazing people doing their dang thing in the space, here are eight New York beauty influencers you should know (and follow if you’re not already):

Aside from focusing on fashion, I love tapping into beauty for all of us beauty girls. Oh, and there’s definitely not a problem with plugging yourself when you know you’re an amazing human being!
@khloedosh
Khloe is a NYC makeup artist and YouTuber who looks effortlessly chic every day, whether it’s when she’s got bundles on bundles or is rocking her cute TWA. She does IMMACULATE makeup work and honestly is as talented as they come. Oh, and did I mention that sis is ALSO a Haitian beauty? Because, yesssss.
@thenotoriouskia
@kellyaugustineb
@africamiranda
I don’t have enough words to describe the amazing person who is Africa Miranda. She’s a beautypreneuer, a style influencer, and all around Black Girl Magic. She’s a published author, not to mention one of the kindest women I know (btw, if you haven’t already, check out the Africa Miranda show — a few weeks ago, I was on an episode speaking on beauty for 20-somethings). She also has her own beauty line!
@kelawalker
Kéla Walker is a hustler HUSTLER if there was such a term (y’all know we’re black so we just say things twice for emphasis). She’s a beauty girl who also works as a media personality, style influencer, on-camera personality, and…Lord, who knows. All I know is that she does quite a bit of it all, and slays each time!
@lovedaphney
Daphney is a beauty vlogger who is all bits fabulous as she is chic. ALSO a Haitian babe (yes, I am not ashamed), Daphney’s channel and IG feed will give you serious highlight, lippie, and color inspiration. Oh, and her twist outs are out of this world, as is her larger-than-life personality.
@iamrenaebluitt
Last and certainly not least is Renae Bluitt, founder of In Her Shoes Blog. I love Renae because yes she’s a beauty girl, but she also represents another side of beauty — PR. Nowadays, you’ll also catch her in front of and behind the camera for her “She Did That” film, a project that explores Black women and their entrepreneurial journeys. Honestly, we often forget that some of the biggest movers and shakers aren’t always the influencers but some of the amazing people who are pulling off the whole show and making it look easy.
So that’s my (quick) list of NYC influencers. Who would you add to this list (and don’t worry, we have much more coming your way!)
