This season, Prabal Gurung gave us three different looks that really emphasized natural hair and texture. Coming down the runway, I noticed that more designers are becoming focused on really building looks that are not only able to be created, but also are on a budget and able to quickly succeed. Well, Prabal Gurung was no exception.
Prabal Gurung Hair Inspiration
For the hair, it was simple and easy. “Three different hairstyles — from a chic ponytail to loose hair emphasizing natural texture — all emulating chic and sleek vibes created with the new Sultra Bombshell Volumizing Dryer and Bumble and bumble styling products,” said lead stylist Laurent Philippon.
Okay, let’s get into the looks:
LOOK 1 – CHIGNON: Prep hair with Bumble and bumble Thickening Spray and blow dry hair section by section using the new Sultra Bombshell Volumizing Hair Dryer ( Sultra.com; $149) removing the nozzle, to create a smooth, shiny finish. The dryer emits both infrared and ions to smooth and speed up drying time while nurturing each strand. Next, gather hair into a center part and pull into a low pony, saturating it with Bumble and bumble Curl Anti-Humidity Gel Oil, and knot the hair into a low chignon.
LOOK 2 – PONYTAIL: After blow-drying, straighten hair section by section using the Sultra Bombshell Curl, Wave, and Straighten Iron (Sultra.com; $149), and pull back — sans part — into a low pony, covering the elastic by wrapping a small piece of hair around it. Finish with Bumble and bumble Does It All.
LOOK 3 – TEXTURED BRAIDS: Blow dry hair with the new Sultra Dryer, apply Bumble and bumble Sumogel to create small textured braids all over the head.
