How to achieve two makeup looks from the Savage x Fenty 2020 fashion show

For the dynamic and multi-look SAVAGE X FENTY 2020 SHOW VOLUME 2, (I know you remember how good the first one was) the Fenty Beauty artistry team used all Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin products to create five unique looks to tell the distinct stories of each “world” within the show. Within each dimension, the looks were then tailored to every model and their unique features and to reflect their personality.

Y’all, the Savage x Fenty 2020 show was PHENOMENAL and the looks in the show followed suit. Of course, there’s nothing less that we would expect from Rihanna, but still…ya girl was left feeling INSPIRED.

The artists first prepped each model with the Fenty Skin Start’rs – Rihanna’s real-life skin care regimen for healthy, glowing skin in just three simple steps to cleanse, tone, brighten, hydrate and protect. This created the ideal base for makeup application for the artists to apply Fenty Beauty’s Pro Filt’r complexion range for longwear, buildable coverage with a natural finish that lasts, before adding various accents of color and finishes. Ranging from showstopping shimmers to sultry mattes, the following provides a breakdown of all of the looks created for this groundbreaking display of beauty by Rihanna.

Below, we rounded up two of the most high-profile looks of the show and the products used to achieve it.

Alright, so let’s get into it:

The Garden Look

On the look for the Savage x Fenty 2020 show, the artists said, “We were inspired by the ethereal nature of the set and wanted to interpret Rihanna’s vision of a garden through dramatic eyes. You’ll see magical hand-crafted flower petals for the top and bottom eyelashes and lots of blushed cheeks carried on to the nose for a dramatic flush. This look was accented by perfectly pink pouts and lots, and lots, of sparkle on the cheekbones by layering several different shades on top of one another to create a fantastical effect.” – Priscilla Ono, Fenty Beauty Global Makeup Artist

The Dear Diary Look

On the look for the Savage x Fenty 2020 show, the artists said, “For “Dear Diary,” we literally drew inspiration from Rihanna’s hand-drawn doodles and illustrations. We wanted the models and dancers to look like they were a part of Rihanna’s drawings, so we created a unique line work application using both liquid and pencil liners for varying effects and finishes.” – Priscilla Ono, Fenty Beauty Global Makeup Artist
