Top 5 Lippies for Fall

So I’ve hung up my short shorts and crop tops in leu of thigh high boots and large, chunky cardigans. Although I love fall fashion, I fall (no pun intended) head over heels for fall makeup. Now I’m not saying I’m about to come out with a face-full beat everyday, buuuuuuuut……

When fall time comes around, I love to change up my lip products, which is usually one of the “Must Always Wear When I Go Out” things in my makeup repertoire. So today I’m showing you my top 5 favorite lip products for the Fall time, all on a wonderful budget (all are drugstore but one). You can be a stylish Misfit…and still be on a budget.

First is the color I reach for just about every other day. This is Transylvania by NYX, and I ended up having to order it online because I couldn’t find it in stores. A soft matte lip cream, it’s a beautiful deep purple that comes off vampy. Aside from loving to look like a vampire (kidddddding!), I love that the product 1) lasts decently long, and 2) is completely buildable. On first swipe, it comes off a deep berry color, but I let it dry and reapply another coat or two. I end up with a beautiful vamp color that’s perfect with almost any fall fashion outfit, all with lasting power!

My favorite lip color of all time (like, all year round) is a color by Black Radiance. Although I don’t have the name for the color, it’s #5116 (which I honestly use when I’m in the drugstore looking for the color on a quick run). This color…guys. The best way to describe it is a burnt orange with a brown undertone. Unlike Lippie #1, this color is more satin and definitely isn’t matte. But that’s okay, because this color slays. I think it’s super versatile, and a simple brown lipliner can lighten/darken the color to my liking. I think the burnt orange color is great for Fall, reminds me of pumpkins and cool leaves on the ground, and is the greatest thing to come into my life. Aside from HTGAWM & AHS. If I’m not wearing any other makeup that day, I wear this. & it works.

Lippie #3 is also by Black Radiance, and this is my fall time big sister to Lippie #2. The number is #5018, and I definitely use this for that ‘adult’ look (haha, yeah right). This color is a red, but a deep red that plays on the burgundy side with a brown undertone. This color is absolutely…it’s like the ice cream you eat only every so often but when you do. Girl. This color is amazing for fall because who doesn’t like a red lip? Well, in the middle of the leaves flowing around and we packing on the layers, we may not necessarily want a hot, bold rep lip. I think this color looks amazing on my beautiful, brown skin, but I think this is the perfect solution to a fall red lip. It’s great for daytime, night time, anytime. It’s that every so often ice cream.

Okay, I lied. Even in the fall, I very much so still like to have a red lip. Here come’s Lippie #4, NYX’s Morocco, a color that is not new to the game. At all. Like Lippie #1, Morocco is a soft matte lip cream, totally blend able, and it’s a coral with orange undertones. I think the sister to this in the NYX collection is probably Monte Carlo, which appears to be a true red. As someone who likes those orange undertones, I love Morocco and what it offers. Nine times out of ten, I use a brown lipliner to gently blend those lines together, and it deepens the color without losing what it needs to be. A fun night out on the town, or a lippie that’s just a great pick me up. Without a lip liner, it’s still beautiful and is definitely going to show out on all skin. I think this color is amazing and it’s a great segway if you can’t let go of summer just yet.

Last, but certainly not least, is the only one that I can’t get from the drugstore, and wasn’t in the drugstore price point (although it’s not horribly expensive). Introducing Lippie #5, my newest baby by Coloured Raine called Soul. Guys. I want this lippie to be a man so I can date him. It’s a beautiful brown color with grey undertones. It’s very cool, but it doesn’t come off as ashy, even on more brown skin. This bad boy is matte without being drying, and it’s as buildable as you want it to be. Apply it correctly and it’s not going anywhere. I have noticed that after long wear it tends to have a purple undertone, but usually that’s after many many hours of wearing where I’ve also had some food and drink. Of all the lip colors listed, this one is definitely bae. It gives me a grunge look (actually, not really, but I just wanted to be cool) or just compliments 99% of any outfit I put together. If you want a neutral/cool/grey color (which is totally in trend), this is my gift to you.

Alright Misfits, those are my top 5 lippies for fall! What colors do you use? Diggin’ my choices?
